About Us

Epic Slant Press LLC is a small publishing company based in North Carolina that currently focuses on books and games. Positivity is the driving force that guides each and every project that the company takes on. The team strongly believes that with a positive outlook anyone can achieve great things. Epic Slant Press LLC strives to support small and local businesses, aid fellow entrepreneurs, and donate a portion of all profits to charities and good causes.

Why Positivity?

Think of a time when you went back to a store or restaurant and an employee there remembered your name. That simple act probably gave you warm feelings (and might help retain your business!). How about a day when all of your customers were angry or just apathetic, and then you had that one customer that was cheerful and grateful for your help? Positive encounters like these make lasting impressions and it is our mission to better serve the community by creating as many of them as possible.

Things I read this week from new bloggers

Newbie Blogger IconSyp has organized the Newbie Blogger initiative to get the word out about new bloggers. The hope is that with some encouragement the great writers of the MMO community will feel compelled to start blogs and become the next generation of bloggers. It is a great idea and I’m completely behind it! I spent some time this week reading various posts from writers I am not familiar with! I thought I would take the time to share some of the great things I found.

The first up on my list is Ocho from Casual Aggro with an article about leveling in Guild Wars 2. Ocho makes a comparison between GW and GW2 and how leveling is used more as a gate than an actual slow path to keep players going.

Zellviren writes an extremely interesting article about whether your religion impacts your character creation choices. I found it fascinating and it gave me pause to think about why I play Ferrel. Ferrel is a cleric who helps others and that is a part of my religion and code of morals. There might just be a link there!

Do you remember text-based adventure games? Are you familiar with main-frames and terminals? Feliz is and brought back some great memories for me. Check out this write up about A Colossal Cave Adventure.

Playing to win is an interesting concept that does pop up in MMORPGs now and then. Some of us play to play and others just play to win! Saali took some time to write a little about this.

A trip to the Faire. Lyrestra spent some time at the Darkmoon Faire in World of Warcraft. Despite being a min/max raider I really do enjoy the non-combat parts of online games! This looks like fun.

An Iron Man Challenge? That is pretty serious business. One death and the character is done! Huntress Maruka gives a brief account of her experience with the Iron Man Challenge!

Iniquity is currently working on a Tera chapter and CraftyGod happens to be doing a good write up about some crafting within that particular game! I thought I would pass that information along to my team!

There you have it folks, some of the articles I read this week that I wanted to share. Please take some time to encourage these bloggers! Go read their articles and maybe leave them a comment or two!

Wow. Hey thanks for the support! I’m still in that “pumped up new blogger” phase right now, and your recommendation has really made my day. Thanks a ton!

  2. Feliz says:

Thanks for the mention. I did subscribe to your twitter feed as part of #nbi and noticed that we are practically neighbors. I am 50 miles east of you near Raleigh.

Thank you for doing so and I’m glad to mention you!

Oh that is really cool! Small world really. I’ve only been in North Carolina for about two years now but I absolutely love it.
