About Us

Epic Slant Press LLC is a small publishing company based in North Carolina that currently focuses on books and games. Positivity is the driving force that guides each and every project that the company takes on. The team strongly believes that with a positive outlook anyone can achieve great things. Epic Slant Press LLC strives to support small and local businesses, aid fellow entrepreneurs, and donate a portion of all profits to charities and good causes.

Why Positivity?

Think of a time when you went back to a store or restaurant and an employee there remembered your name. That simple act probably gave you warm feelings (and might help retain your business!). How about a day when all of your customers were angry or just apathetic, and then you had that one customer that was cheerful and grateful for your help? Positive encounters like these make lasting impressions and it is our mission to better serve the community by creating as many of them as possible.

Wednesday MMO Reader

Guild Leader FerrelSince my return from Dragon*Con I have pretty much been covered up completely. I’ve not had the time to write as much as I normally do and only managed to put two articles together for this week. In addition to this I currently have no guest articles in the queue and haven’t had a chance to respond to my Ask a Guild Leader emails. So instead of just throwing something together that will be terrible I’ve decided to just plug the wonderful work of my peers. They write so that I don’t have to (ok, I know that isn’t really why they write)!

Here are some things that I managed to read this week. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did.

Gordon from We Fly Spitfires asks are Guild Websites Worth It in MMOs? I said that they somewhat add legitimacy but aren’t necessary for the casual guilds.

Chris asks if MMOs Should be Based on Books? I’m not sure that existing IPs make better MMOs and I’ve said so in the past!

Brian takes the time to offer some tips on Making over Legendary Weapons in LotRO. He makes solid points and I fully agree with the assessment!

Green Armadillo took some time to discuss The Difficulty with Timed Challenges. A solid read!

Syp seems to be having trouble picking a game! He, like many MMO bloggers, seems to get distracted by what everyone else is playing. I’m completely guilty of that! He is thinking about Fallen Earth and blaming others for it!

Stargrace asks if it is wrong to charge players for raid spots and/or helping them complete Epic Quests. I don’t see a problem with either! Hopefully she’ll do mine for help me too!

I highly recommend that you guys check out all of those stories! More from me on Friday and if you haven’t yet submitted a question to Ask a Guild Leader please do so as soon as possible! Episode 1 will likely come out next week.
